Guidelines for discipline, attendance, and academic excellence

General Rules

Imparting knowledge and instilling discipline for good behaviour are the twin goals of our institution. Hence the school expects every student to obey its rules and regulations.

A. Discipline and Punctuality

School Timings: All students should be punctual. They are expected to be in their class immediately after the first bell at 8:40 AM. The school gate will be closed at 8:45 AM.

  • Students who come late will not be admitted to class without permission from the Principal. Habitual late comers will be sent home.
  • The full and clean school uniform must be worn on all days.
  • Running, playing, shouting and whistling inside the school building are never allowed.
  • The school is not responsible for the personal belongings such as money, ornaments, etc.
  • Any damage to the school property will be compensated by the parents.
  • Irregular attendance, unsatisfactory performance in studies, disobedience to teachers, stealing, writing, scribbling on the walls, malpractice in examinations, misbehaviour will necessitate dismissal of a student from school.
  • Cell phones are not to be used in campus. If they are found, they will be confiscated.
  • In any case if the student has to be taken during working hours, he/she can be taken by the parents only with the permission of the Headmistress.

B. Attendance

  • The student must attend the school daily. Parents should not request that their children should leave school before all classes are over.
  • No leave of absence will be granted except for serious reasons. The absentees will not be admitted to the class unless an application for leave is entered in the diary and parents should show it to the respective class teacher after Principal's signature.
  • No half a day leave is granted.
  • If a student is absent for 2 months without any permission, his or her name will be struck off from the rolls without any warning.
  • Unauthorized persons are not entertained in campus.

C. Use of English

The students are encouraged to speak English in order to improve communication skills.

D. School Fee

  • Tuition fee is charged for twelve months (irrespective of vacation or absence).
  • The fees should be paid at a time for full year. However, all dues should be cleared before terminal exams.
  • The school fee amount is fixed by the management and subjected to periodic revision.

E. Examination and Promotion

The academic performance of the students is assessed regularly by conducting Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE).

  • Continuous and comprehensive evaluation is compulsory for all. A re-test or examination will not be conducted for the absentees except when a student is required to represent the school in outside competitions.
  • There will be four assessments in a year. Two Terminal examinations are held in a year.
  • Progress reports are issued at the end of each assessment and terminal examination. Parents are requested to go through the progress of each subject.
  • Every student must have a minimum of 35% marks in all subjects and 90% attendance.
  • The decision of the Principal is final with regard to promotion.
